Another new place always triggers my excitement and Modu Cafe is surely not an exception. The aesthetically designed cafe well delivered that simple yet sophisticated ambiance. It's such an early riser as the door opened at 7am, and probably due to its early days joining the club as well, I reached at 1 to find out all pastries had been sold out since 10. So there I was, ended up with a drink only as I needed to spend some time working while having my caffeine dose. I tried their Modu Latte per the friendly barista's recommendation and I fell for it. It's bold kick with 2 espresso shots, which was very well balanced with the milk and cream top. All elements could stand out and not overpowering each other. Not in the camp of oat milk, I opted for almond substitute to the default oat and I loved my coffee. Also as I usually went with something sweet, this was perfect as it came with Korean black sugar and slight cinnamon touch. Worry not, the sweetness level was pretty subtle and just right. Would definitely recommend, and looking forward to trying their Hojicha Latte!

This place sets the standard that all coffee shops should follow! It’s absolutely awesome — you can really feel how much time, effort, and passion the owner has poured into it. The baked goods are top-notch, and the coffee is just delicious. I can’t wait to come back to LA and bring my friends here!

The hojicha latte was A+ nice hojicha taste with the right amount of latte. The cream pan taste just as good it looks, fresh cream and bread. My favorite was the black sesame mochi bread, remind me like homemade mochi bread. Chocolate brownie was ok it's not a traditional brownie.

Best coffee shop in LA, otherwise please prove me wrong. I been here a couple times before posting a review, as I thought as it was a new place they could struggle with consistency. But they didn’t… Every time they have new pastries or drinks, they are clean, respectful, and very artistic. Tastes as good as it looks, and it looks stunning from every angle I look at it. Highland park has another gem to brag about. How green is that matcha! That Mochi Cinnamon roll can only create addiction, I lost my mind!

I was looking for a new coffee shop to kill some time at near Highland Park and stumbled upon this wonderful spot! I saw in other reviews that they made a great espresso tonic and can confirm that it was fantastic. The service was great and there was plenty of indoor seating options with separate small tables, a long bench with built in shelves for individual seating, and a large table in the middle which can be shared by groups. The large windows in the front gave plenty of natural light with the whole ambience of the interior being minimalist, simple but warm. While I didn’t have a chance to try them, they had an assortment of tasty looking pastries that I will definitely get around to next time!

Came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty crowded. Got the espresso cloud, which was decent, and the mochi hojicha muffin, which I didn’t really like because the hojicha flavor wasn’t very prominent and the texture was off (I normally love mochi pastries). However there’s lots of seating (but no outlets).

They have the best coffee and some good pastries. I’ve had iced coffee here before, and I definitely prefer their iced specialty coffees over the hot ones. The cream bun was really good, light and with a nice vanilla milk flavor, but the cream melted quickly and was a bit too light for my taste. Overall, it’s a bit overpriced ($8 for the cream bun), so I’m not sure if I’d get pastries again, but I’ll definitely be back for the coffee! One downside is the seating area, especially on weekends. It’s very limited, and the line for ordering is so close to the tables that people waiting were standing right next to us and walking back and forth constantly, which made the dine-in experience a bit uncomfortable.

This cute little cafe is awesome! The staff is so nice and welcoming and helpful. They have Korean themed desserts and drinks. I am a big fan of passion fruit so I had to try their passion fruit dessert and it did not disappoint! The bottom is a hard chocolate cookie type shell with cream inside and the top is fresh tasting passionfruit with the rich tart and boldness! The dessert was so freaking good I cannot wait to visit again!
